by Chuck Hoven

Frank Giglio’s house at 2288 W. 14th Street was demolished on December 9th after he exhausted all his appeals. Giglio, who has very little in the way of income or financial resources, had, with the help of friends worked for years to keep up with a steady stream of housing citations from the City of Cleveland on his land and his historic 1860 era house. Friends helped him to put a roof on the house, scrap and paint the huge structure, repair replace gutters and others items on the exterior of the house. This apparently was not enough for the city of Cleveland Building and Housing Department.
