Saturday, March 22, 2008, The Matinée, 2527 W. 25th at Potter Court: This newly opened nightclub, The Matinée, was hit by an automobile on Friday, March 25th. A former owner of the building, Ralph Gordon, spent years petitioning the City of Cleveland and Ward 14 City Council representatives to place a guard rail in front of the building because his motor cycle repair shop was repeatedly hit by vehicles. A guardrail was finally placed in front of the building, but now seems to have disappeared. While there are still metal poles in front of the building, a nearly 12-foot gap in front of the door allowed a vehicle to hit the building.
