Urban Community School Garden receives funding

(Plain Press, February 2008) The garden at Urban Community School at W. 48th and Lorain Avenue was one of four school gardens in Northeast Ohio to be adopted by Smith and Hawken, a garden supply company, and the National Garden Association and its Adopt a School Garden Program. Funding from the award will allow the school to enhance the gardening program with plant-based education and hands-on learning.

Adopt a School Garden (ASG) is a program developed by the National Gardening Association (NGA) to bridge the gap between those lacking resources to implement school or community gardening programs, and people who have the ability to help. For more information, please contact Keri Evjy at keri@garden.org or visit www.garden.org/asg.
