Father Mark DiNardo celebrates 50 years as a priest
(Plain Press, June 2008) St. Patrick Church, Bridge Avenue, was filled with nearly one thousand people on Sunday, May 25, to celebrate Mass with Fr. Mark DiNardo, upon the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his ordination as a priest. Serving the people at St. Pat’s since August, 1980, “Fr. Mark”, has reached out and ministered to every segment of our community. With his leadership, St. Patrick Church has grown over the years to become spiritual home for the poor and the well-to-do, young families and the elderly, old-timers and refugees, people of all races and educational backgrounds, and a catalyst for caring people to share their time, their talent, their wealth, and their love with one another, and especially with the needy.
In the words of a Cleveland City Council proclamation, “Fr. Mark DiNardo is a priest who has surrendered his sense of self, his very life, in the service of others.... It would be hard to imagine the St. Patrick’s Parish and the community around us, without this grace, and without this humble servant-priest who has been in our lives and in our hearts these many years.”
