Friday, May 30, 2008, Progressive Field, Ontario & Carnegie: The Lincoln West High School Wolverines celebrate winning the Senate Athletic League Baseball Championship with a 6-0 victory over Rhodes High School. Winning pitcher, junior Joel Tejeda, threw a complete game three hit shutout. Shortstop Rinaldi Santiago and second baseman Richard Cintron each drove in a run while going 2-for-4.

Tuesday, June 17, 2008, West Side Community House, 9300 Lorain Avenue: Children participating in summer programs at West Side Community House helped to design a playground to be built on W. 89th & Willard. Jameelah Taylor, Age 7, shows her design for the playground to Amy Whittaker a Project Manager for KaBOOM, the funding partner. Volunteers from Cudell Improvement and Nueva Luz Urban Outreach Center will help to build the playground on August 8th.

Thursday, June 19, 2008, Cuyahoga County Administration Building, Lakeside and Ontario: Keith Danek of Cleveland Jobs with Justice joins protesters in urging the Cuyahoga County Commissioners to ask the State Attorney General to issue a legal ruling acknowledging that Living Wage Resolutions do not violate the Ohio Revised Code and can be passed in Cuyahoga County. The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor halted action on a County Living Wage by questioning its legality.
