Thursday, August 7, 2008, West Side Community House (WSCH), 9300 Lorain Avenue: Youths from the SmArt in the City Summer Art Camp at WSCH perform in the play “The Luck of the Gem.” The play is an original musical developed by SmART in the City Summer Art Camp based upon Greek Myth "Jason and the Argonauts." SmArt in the City was funded by Cleveland Foundation. Teachers are from Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio & Kulture Kids.

Sunday, August 17, 2008, Ashbury Towers Townhouses, 4700 Block of Fenwick Avenue: The abandoned townhomes in the development received no bidders in a July 14th Sheriff’s sale. Ameri-Con Homes abandoned this project and declared bankruptcy several years ago leaving the six-unit townhouse on the left incomplete and without siding. Three of the six units in the set of townhouses on the right are owned and occupied the other three are vacant.

The project sponsored by Kool Aid, Cudell Improvement and the Nuevo Luz Urban Resource Center was coordinated by KaBOOM!, a national non-profit organization that empowers neighborhoods to build playgrounds.
