ARTS

SHOWAGON AUDITIONS will be held at two area city rec centers: Michael Zone Rec. Center, 6301 Lorain, Fri., May 22 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.; Cudell Fine Arts Center, 10013 Detroit, Tues., May 26 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Young performers (18 and under), including singers, dancer, musicians, comedians, and poets, are needed to perform at festivals, rec centers and community events. CHILDREN’S MOVIES are shown Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at the Lorain Branch, Cleveland Public Library, 8216 Lorain Avenue. Call 623-7011.


DAY CAMPS

SALVATION ARMY DAY CAMP is registering for its day camp at West 44th and Clark Ave. Contact program director Lucy Conant at SA’s Ohio City office, 216-631-1515, ext.20.

ST.MALACHI CENTER camp for ages 6-13 is held Monday through Thursdays 9:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. for 5 weeks during the summer. Call 771-3036.

WEST SIDE COMMUNITY HOUSE camp for ages 5 through 12 runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Call 771-7297, ext. 315.

SUMMER DAY CAMP AT THE ZOO for ages 5-12 includes games and crafts plus get-close animal encounters. Before and/or after-camp care available. Registration underway for sessions starting June 15. RESIDENTIAL CAMPS  

CAMP FORBES applications are available at all City of Cleveland Recreation Centers until June 5 for this summer’s sessions. Any Cleveland resident age 9-13 is eligible to attend camp for one week free of charge. For info, call 216-831-5910.  

SALVATION ARMY offers a free residential summer camp for ages 6-12 at Camp Neosa in Carrolton, Oh. during the week of June 24-29. FORESTY CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS for high school students  are being offered by the Cuyahoga Soil and Water Conservation District for the Ohio Forestry Association’s Forestry Camp, June 14-19, at Camp Muskingum in Carroll County, Oh.
