St. Herman’s Monastery shares some milestones

To the editor: (Plain Press, December 2009) Greetings and Blessings to all of you and your families for Thanksgiving!

The COMMEMORATIONS in 2009 at St. Herman's Monastery/House of Hospitality, 4410 Franklin Blvd., are: Abbot Father John Henry's 25th Year Anniversary as the Abbot. [May 8, 1984); the monk, Fr. Ephraim George Thompson's, 90th Year Birthday, [Oct 6, 1919]; and St. Herman's Monastery/House of Hospitality beginning its 33rd year of service to God's poor and disenfranchised in Cleveland. [Sept. 27, 1977].

Fr. Ephraim George is part of our everyday services to the Lord. He came to St. Herman’s Monastery in 1980 and has helped in the laundry, clothing-room, and in preparing meals. He also still enjoys working the soil at Kentucky Garden. The former Brother Earnest is always, "Happy in the Lord!"

We thank all of our friends for their help. You are always in our prayers. Please continue to keep us in yours during this Advent Season and the coming year 2010.

Lovingly yours in Christ Jesus and lady Theotokos, The Little Brothers of the Divine Compassion at St. Herman’s,

+Little Father Abbot John Henry
